How do I care for my yoga mat?

Live whole yoga believes in living a 100% chemical free lifestyle. We recommend cleaning your mats with the combination of ingredients below. In your biodegradable spray bottle add a mixture of water, vinegar, tea tree and peppermint oil to create your own yogi cleaning spray. We love to add a hint of clove oil to prevent mold and protect against bacteria.

What is PVC?

PVC is a man made (Polyvinyl Chloride) oil based PLASTIC! Research into this plastic and its manufacturing found that PVC & the plasticisers used to soften the product are toxic and studies have linked these products with cancer, hormonal disruption & dioxin production. PVC is extremely difficult to dispose or recycle & usually requires incineration which releases toxins into the environment. 

What is TPE?

TPE (or thermoplastic elastomer) is a resilient, highly elastic material that is composed primarily of styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymers" & is a synthetic made product. 

Whats on the market?

There are so many "ECO" YOGA mats on the market that are still filled with chemicals, like TPE, PVC & Plastic. These mats are not biodegradable & mass produced in sweat shops all over the world. For these reasons we have created the Live Whole Yoga mat & can stand proud knowing that our mats are made with 100% integrity & will last for many years before going back into the ground to feed mother earth. 

What is Natural Tree Rubber? 

Natural rubber comes from the rubber tree. Our tree rubber is harvested from live trees at plantations in Sri Lanka. The harvesting process is sustainable and the resource renewable. The end products are biodegradable and can be recycled and reused again and again. There is no toxic by-products from the manufacturing of natural rubber mats.

What is coconut fibre?

Coconut coir fibre is the husk of the coconut which comes from the inner casing of the coconuts outer shell. The husk is woven into string without the use of any nasty chemicals & grown the way nature intended "sustainably" in Sri Lanka.
